Staff Training offers our online Afterburners as an optional addition to some of our workshops. These continued learning courses are aimed at re-capping what was learnt during the workshop, and expanding the learning to include additional useful knowledge and skills.
When booking for a regular open hosted workshop, delegates or HR personnel will select the “Afterburner” checkbox under the “Addons” section on the booking form. This will only be available on booking forms where an Afterburner is available for that specific course.
The delegate will start the Afterburner course by completing the re-cap quiz, based on the information that was learned during the workshop.
The delegate will then move through sections one, two and three of the Afterburner at their own pace.
Afterburner content includes videos, quizzes, and three sections of additional learning material designed to reinforce the new skills acquired by the learner when they attended the course.
The delegate will then complete the final quiz, based on sections one, two and three of the Afterburner.
Delegates receive a certificate of attendance upon completion of the workshop and upon completion of the Afterburner, delegates are able to email their results to their line or HR managers to keep on file.
Afterburner courses are available at a rate of R410.00 (incl. VAT) per delegate. Please note that there is a 20% discount on Afterburners and Skills Checks when they are purchased together for a particular workshop.

The Afterburner Explained
Staff Training offers Skills Assessment Checks optional addition to most of our workshops, helping to improve the implementation of new skills and increase the ROI of soft skills training.
A week after the delegate has attended their workshop, we invite them to identify a minimum of three areas in which they would like to improve on in their current positions, based on the theory and tools learnt during the training.
After these areas have been identified by the delegate, in about a month's time (allowing sufficient opportunity to implement the necessary changes), Staff Training will request the learner to expand on how these improvements were made, mentioning the specific tools and theory they have relied on and the challenges they came up against.
This info is then compiled into a report and sent to the delegate's manager/training coordinator to assist in future goal setting and performance management.
The Skills Check process is completed after around two months.
Skills Checks are available at a rate of R410.00 (incl. VAT) per delegate.
