Aim/Intro

To apply leadership concepts in a work context using the Enneagram Self-Mastery tool to effectively develop leadership ability. A portion of this workshop is customised to the individual, enabling them to quickly identify their own areas of expertise and challenges. Many case studies are analysed to assist the delegate with application of the theory. This workshop involves pre-course preparation and the delegates can expect to have some after-hours work whilst the workshop is in session.

Exploring these different concepts. Knowing when to lead, when to manage and when both are required based on organisational/team challenges

Drilling down on the qualities of a leader and why people tend to follow leaders

Transformational, Transactional and Understanding what modern leadership calls for

Leadership theories

Exploring a range of leadership theories, analysing the strengths and weaknesses of each and recognising the how, why, what and when of each
Includes situational leadership, trait leadership, action-centred leadership and integrated leadership
Leadership in times of change
Change-related behaviours and appropriate response
Finding your personal balance as a leader

The teams leadership approach

Understanding the difference between team leadership and top-down management
Why and when teams
What dynamics are at play in each stage of team formation


Evaluate impact of leadership techniques on organisational requirement

A practical approach through analysis of case studies
Finding the organisational requirements
Establishing the leadership and management response

The Enneagram as a self-mastery tool

Using the internationally recognised Enneagram framework and self-mastery tool to ensure that the delegates get the maximum self-knowledge
This equips them to effectively analyse and review their world view and that of their team members
Developmental areas addressed are communication style, assertiveness, conflict-handling modes, decision making biases, natural leadership tendencies and approach to the team

Outcome

At the end of this workshop the individual will be able to identify and solve problems using critical and creative thinking processes to diagnose which leadership theories are appropriate to their own work context; work effectively with others as a member of a team, group, organisation or community; organise and manage themselves and their activities responsibly and effectively in order to ensure effective leadership.

Assessments for this SETA accredited 3-day workshop are offered at an additional cost. These Assessments, referred to as Summative Assessments, require a commitment from both the delegate and his/her company.
