Normal doesn’t sound like anything we have experienced in the past three months...
Firstly, we got used to the fact that social distancing, washing and sanitising our hands, face masks and sanitising groceries were our new normal.
We were plunged into limbo from end March until 1st June. We were effectively separated and locked down either by ourselves, or with our families.
Only essential businesses could operate, which meant the large majority of people were held in a waiting formation, extra-long and unscheduled leave with a very uncertain future regarding its end date. This was, for many, coupled with the uncertainty around whether they would be able to return to work when lockdown lifted.
Lockdown brought out the best and the worst in people – for some it was a welcome rest, if stability awaited them on the other side. For many it was terrifying and dragged on and on.
Staff Training's new normal appears to be over the medium of Zoom with facilitator-led training or online courses, with some face to face workshops comprising of limited participants and adherence to strict COVID-19 principles.
We have become well versed in each of these areas, luckily, because people still need to be developed and more and more companies are acknowledging that training is an essential component in running a healthy company.
