"Times of stress are also times that are signals for growth, and if we use adversity properly, we can grow through adversity." ~ Rabbi Dr. Abraham Twerski

Fact #1
Stress is a part of life. It doesn't matter who you are or what you do... At some point or another you will feel stressed. Because stress doesn't pick and choose who it's going to terrorize today, nope, it shows up on all our doorsteps every now and then.

Fact #2
It's not necessarily about minimizing stress or stressful situations, rather, it's about learning to effectively deal with stress and cultivating healthy habits to get us through the stressful times.

Today we'll look at 4 healthy habits we can start implementing to help us deal with stress:

1. Mindset is everything

Change your mindset from "this is too stressful" or "I can't deal with this" to "I have what it takes to manage this situation."
Such a simple change in the way we think can have a profound effect on how we deal with the stress in our lives.

2. Prioritise your to-do list

This is crucial to your success and maintaining a healthy balance... Prioritising your tasks helps you manage your time and keeps you from feeling completely overwhelmed. We teach you more about this in our Stress and Time Management workshop.

3. Keep your perfectionism in check

This doesn't mean you lower the quality of work... But just think for a moment how many times you have been your own worst enemy. Never happy with the work you've done, always pushing to do better, working harder, doing more... So, you're a high achiever and hard worker- great! But remember that perfectionism comes in two forms. Task Related and Time Related - sometimes we just have to do the best we can in the time allocated to us.

4. Stay organized

I don't know about you, but messiness or clutter can often be my tipping point. And no, I'm by no means a clean freak or perfectionist... But if I'm stressed already, the clutter around me (especially my workspace) can honestly be the difference between me coping and me not coping.

And I know for a fact, after countless conversations, articles read and workshops that I am not the only one...
There is a reason why keeping an organized desk or workspace is mentioned on any and every listicle or article you read about stress management.

Yes, it will help your overall "Feng Shui", but it also helps you be more organized and productive while actually working... No looking for a pen or piece of paper to take a message from this very important client... No looking for the folder with info your manager wants ASAP... No struggling to find the information your client has been put on hold for...

And while I do hope that reading this blog gives you an idea of how to start managing your stress effectively... I am also well aware of the fact that knowing where to start or what to do can be just as overwhelming- so I implore you to something for yourself (or your team) today... Join our Stress and Time Management workshop.

We work with you and your team to address the causes of stress, as well as the causes of time wastage and we give you the tools with which to overcome these obstacles. This is a solid workshop and shows immediate results.
