Those who score higher in EQ tests are more likely to be successful than those who just excel in IQ tests.
A study completed on 40 PhD holders led the researcher to the conclusion that people scoring higher in Emotional Intelligence are up to 4 times more successful than those who only score highly on their IQ tests.
In other words, no matter how darn clever you are, if you are not able to communicate, adjust and respond to situations in the real world, you are more than likely going to battle somewhat.
This definitely explains the nutty professor phenomena and on the other side of the coin, the sickening phenomena where a person with less facts and substance to their sales pitch can close a deal ahead of another who has put all their effort into accuracy and ethics.
Luckily the competencies from emotional intelligence can be cultivated, though.
