Dropping the K word, wishing all the people of a particular race were dead, calling another's language retarded. These are just some of the examples of racism cropping up on sites like Facebook and Twitter of late - and the buzz they've been causing is growing bigger and bigger.
This is unfortunate because the majority of South Africa is NOT racist. In general we are tolerant of each other's cultural differences and have learnt to embrace the many races that together form our beautiful rainbow nation.
So let's not let our image of this become spoiled by a few unsavoury tweets and Facebook posts or get caught up in what the media is trying to portray as the Real South Africa.
We're bigger than that.
