Writer's Block

https://www.stafftraining.co.za/blog/writer\s-block

When I'm clueless about what to write about I often turn to the internet for inspiration, and after a few minutes of surfing I've usually found my interest piqued over some random subject that gets me thinking in all new kinds of ways.

For example, did you know that the jellyfish, the only known exception to the process of senescence (or biological ageing), is thought to be immortal? Or that a thimbleful of a neutron star would weigh over 100-million tons?

When you start to learn about it, and I mean really learn about it, you see that the world is truly an amazing place where the seemingly absurd is right at home.

Where, through meditation and similar practices, people are able to induce out-of-body experiences and travel to the stars (in their heads, of course); where a female shark can have offspring without ever coming into contact with a mate; and where disabilities like autism can make you incredibly good at some things and downright awful at others.

I've learnt about meditation, self-hypnosis and lucid dreaming, what positive effects can be derived from them and how they all began to begin with. Because of a little writer's block I could tell you all about Buddha and Buddhism, who coined the term Déjà vu and why scientists think it happens, and I'd keep up in conversations about theories of life on other planets.

And for all this, Writer's Block, I'd like to thank you. You force me to learn, and there's nothing wrong with that, nothing at all.
