What is this course about?

To supply the learners with the necessary knowledge, tools and confidence, enabling them to recognise potential conflict situations, address the situation in a manner that makes the conflict positive as well as mediate where necessary.

Whether conflict is internal or external, our main aim should be to resolve it in the most cost effective and timeous manner to ensure that the least possible toll is taken on the individuals and organisations concerned. This takes skill. These skills can be learnt.

"The problem is not that there are problems. The problem is expecting otherwise and thinking that having problems is a problem." ~ Theodore Rubin

Conflict in itself is not necessarily a bad thing - it is our reaction to conflict that creates either a negative or a positive outcome.

Positive conflict resolution skills are one of the most valuable behavioural tools a human can have and from an organisational point of view it is imperative that we have policies and systems in place to assist us in creating positive outcomes from conflict to avoid the endless time (and resource) wasting that often accompanies negative conflict.

This 2-day workshop deals with individual and group conflict, addresses the role of a mediator and looks at policies that can assist to minimise ongoing conflict.
