Qualifying learners are able to:
- Deal with common health conditions to help prevent the spread of illness.
- Practice good hygiene habits.
- Practice good grooming and dress habits.

This unit standard replaces:
12514 Maintain personal hygiene, health and presentation NQF Level 01 - 4 credits

Learning assumed to be in place and recognition of prior learning
It is assumed that learners are competent in:
- Communication at ABET Level 3.

The Unit standards:
- Understand basic cleaning principles (Level 1).

Unit standard range
- The scope of this unit standard is for any person who cleans or supervises cleaners.
- In the context of this unit standard, good health refers to the absence of conditions that pose a risk to the health of others, and good grooming refers to the acceptable appearance of people.
