To Mothers Everywhere - [website]

Something happens when a woman gives birth that changes her for the rest of her life; a mother is born.
Perhaps Washington Irving said it best when he said: “ A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.”

There is nothing on this earth quite like a mother; no love quite like a mother's; and nothing quite as nurturing, caring or kind.

We go to her when we feel hurt or depressed and she comforts us until we see the light again, she rejoices in our successes and achievements with us and fights to protect us from all that may do us harm.

In our eyes, she is superwoman; infallible and always right.

In the lighthearted words of Tenneva Jordan, “A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie.”

And I think that sums it up perfectly.

So to all the mother's out there: Thank you, you make the world a far happier, brighter place. Without you we wouldn't even be here.

To everyone else: Spoil your mom this mother’s day; it's the one day you get to really show how much you appreciate her.

I think that every day should be mother’s day.
