Facebook for Businesses - [website] Published: 10th of Nov 2011 by: Miss Knowitall
So you’ve decided to see what all the hype is about and you’ve created a Facebook page for your business, but just because you’ve built it doesn’t mean they will come.
Promoting your brand online has become an important aspect of marketing – one that you can’t afford to ignore – but simply creating the page and posting content is not going to garner the support that you would like for your brand.
Creating a Facebook page for your business is only the first step, this page needs to be nurtured and grown into the tool you would like it to become. This is often a slow-moving (initially) process that may seem futile during the first few weeks, but with a bit of perseverance you will soon begin to see it paying off.
Growing your fan base is essential, but the way you do it needs to be methodical. You can easily run a competition giving away an iPad but you need to ask yourself if you really want every Tom, Dick and Harry to like your page, or if you rather want serious clients with whom you can build rapport.
Posting content relevant to your industry, letting your fans be the first to know about special offers and discounts and publicly answering any questions they may have all go towards creating affinity for your brand – which is what will keep your fans around once they’ve joined your page.
Your Facebook page should be a place for your customers to connect with each other, discuss your products and feel as though your brand has their best interests at heart; it’s a place for you to show them that you do care, and in doing so create a credible name for your brand.
Stay tuned to this blog during the coming days as we look at how to make using social media easier, what kind of content you should be posting and what you should be doing your best to avoid.
