Doing it For Yourself - [website]

If you’re thinking of taking the killer business idea you’ve had and turning it into a way for you to make some extra money on the side, then congratulations, you’ve already taken one of the biggest steps.
It makes no difference whether your reasons for wanting to make more money are because of the economy, fear of retrenchment, your children entering school or simply for the reason that you’ve seen an opportunity; the truth is that these days its easier than ever to generate some extra cash, and also a lot more necessary.

But, as with everything in life, there are also certain guidelines that need to be followed in order for you to be successful.

First off you’ve got to pick something that you have a passion for and believe in. This belief is the foundation of your venture and when times get tough it will be what drives you back to shore. Besides, if you don’t really love what you’re doing you may as well go back to your desk job.

I’d like to point out though that becoming an entrepreneur doesn’t necessarily mean packing in your day job, throwing caution to the wind and pinning your hopes and dreams on a single idea. This works for some people, but let’s be honest, who can risk failure in a situation like that? How long would you go without money if something went wrong? How long could you go without money?

The answer is probably not very long, which is why if you’re already employed you should keep it that way, at least until your business takes off. Obviously if you’re just leaving varsity with all your youth and none of the dreaded responsibility that comes with age, you can afford to take route A. The rest of us, however….

The rest of us are less daring, but still have no excuse not to use our own initiative and set our ideas in motion, not when it’s as simple and easy as it is these days.

Staff Training is offering a one-day seminar focused at those looking to turn their ideas into cold hard cash, but aren’t exactly sure how, think it’s too difficult and time-consuming to do or simply think it’s too risky to consider.
