Christmas Break - [website]

As Christmas approaches and we all start to get into the festive spirit (it is difficult not to with retailers reminding us every ten seconds) I wonder just how many of us will be taking a break over the holidays.
While not all of us will be lucky enough to take off during the holidays – for retailers this is the busiest time of year – for a lot of us a break couldn’t come any sooner. Stress levels are reaching their peaks and without a break many of us would likely reach tipping point, which could be anything from snapping at a colleague to suffering a heart attack.

Besides being able to put your feet up taking a break from work also lets your mind and heart rest, helping you to lower your blood pressure and form better sleeping patterns, which all contribute to feeling rejuvenated and revitalised.

Make the most of your holiday by having a few zero-stress days during which you forget all about the things that need doing. Leave the DIY projects for a day (unless they’re a hobby, in which case go right ahead) and rather spend some time getting reacquainted with your spouse, go for a walk or go and see a concert – anything to get your mind off work and into a relaxed state.

Taking a break, and I mean REALLY taking a break, gives your mind and body the chance to recuperate and prepare itself for a new year full of new challenges.

Are you taking leave this festive season?
